The challenge
Chesapeake Housing Mission (CHM) helps veterans on Maryland's Eastern Shore with housing and support services. Their caseworkers were tracking veterans, referrals, and follow-ups across spreadsheets, email threads, and paper — every handoff risked a veteran falling through the cracks, and nobody could answer "where does this case stand?" without digging.
What we built
A purpose-built case-management platform (ESVA) configured to CHM's real workflow:
Intake & eligibility
Structured veteran intake with the questions their program actually asks — not a generic form.
Referral tracking
Every referral to a partner organization logged, owned, and dated — with the status visible to the team.
Case status at a glance
A live board of every open case and where it stands, replacing the spreadsheet hunt.
Document handling
Secure file upload and attachment on the case record — paperwork lives with the case, not in an inbox.
Notifications & follow-ups
The system reminds the team when a case needs action, so nothing goes quiet.
How it runs today
The platform is live and in daily use by CHM staff, hosted and maintained by VES AMG on veteran-safe infrastructure: access-controlled, with production veteran data kept private — the public demo at /esva-demo uses only fictional data so you can try the exact workflow yourself.
This is the model for every VES deployment: we build around the organization's real process, we run it, and the client owns their data outright.
