Veteran Property Tax Exemption — Kentucky
Kentucky's Homestead Exemption is age-and-disability based, and the disability path treats veterans differently — if your total disability comes from VA service connection, you don't have to reapply every year.

Who qualifies
Homeowners who are 65+, OR classified as totally disabled under a U.S. government agency or retirement-system program. Veterans with service-connected disabilities are exempt from the annual reapplication that applies to other disability-based claims
Benefit
$49,100 (2025–2026 assessment years) deducted from the assessed value of the homestead — property tax is computed on the remaining assessment. The amount adjusts every two years
How to apply
File with your county PVA office (one-time application for 65+; annual unless you're a service-connected veteran, SSA totally-and-permanently disabled, or KRS-disabled)
Watch out
The exemption is per-homestead and the dollar amount is fixed — Kentucky's low assessed-value ratios mean the real-world savings are modest; watch the biennial adjustment
