Veteran Property Tax Exemption — Oklahoma
Oklahoma's constitution does it outright: veterans rated 100% permanently and totally disabled from service connection — or paid at the 100% rate for unemployability — are exempt from all ad valorem property taxes on their homestead.
The rules in Oklahoma
Who qualifies
Honorably discharged veterans with a 100% permanent and total service-connected VA disability rating, or compensation at the 100% rate for individual unemployability (Oklahoma Constitution Art. 10, Sec. 6A / 68 O.S. 2902)
Benefit
Exemption from all ad valorem taxes on the homestead — the whole bill, not a portion of value
How to apply
File the Oklahoma Tax Commission's 100% Disabled Veteran application (Form 998 package) with your county assessor, with VA certification
Watch out
Application and re-application rules apply — the OTC forms package includes the assessor's certification; if you already hold the exemption and move, the follow-up form (998-B) covers transferring to the new property

Every one of these programs hinges on a VA service-connected rating. If you have not filed a claim, that is the starting point — a free, VA-accredited VSO (DAV, American Legion, VFW) will file it for you at no cost. A higher rating unlocks not just property-tax relief but healthcare, income benefits, and — for business owners — SDVOSB contracting eligibility.
