Veteran Property Tax Exemption — Louisiana
Louisiana is one of the most generous states in the country for disabled veterans: from 50% service connection up, the exemption grows with your rating — and at 100%, it wipes out all ad valorem tax on your home.

Who qualifies
Veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or higher; surviving spouses qualify as well (unremarried, per the Louisiana Constitution Art. VII, § 21 tiers)
Benefit
50–69%: the next $2,500 of assessed valuation beyond the homestead exemption is exempt. 70–99%: the next $4,500. 100%: exempt from all ad valorem taxation on the primary residence, except certain municipal assessments
